Yes, I did that on purpose. That cross pattern fades out gradually.

and now for the website I agree with his first point the banner text. it is important however you should not have to put a fancy font in there a basic one should always fit in! :D
and for the navigation on top I do like the blue and white text but I don't like the // in front of it it might be a good idea to remove them and see how it looks ;)
