I don't see why people say they have issues with hostgator when I've been using them for over 3 years, currently have 7 active accounts (varies baby shared through VPS), host multiple software packages on each (one has Joomla integrated with vB, with cross integration with the private server game it is for, as well as a numerous amount of cron jobs with ~1500 unique visit/day) and never have any issues.
Never been suspended once, never been forcibly upgraded or upsold once. So as such, I always recommend hostgator because they are extremely tolerant when it comes to "abusive" websites and high bandwidth usage.
For dedicated servers, server4you if you're cheap, softlayer if you're looking for a professional solution.
Agreed. I didn't have any issues with HostGator until I started getting visitors in the 4k+ unique range. That's when I got suspended twice. Probably the fault of the plugins being used though.
Until that point though, they were solid. And since they have awesome promo codes available all the time, you can get cheap hosting for even cheaper all year long.

I find both of this host useful because they are truly professional. They always keep me updated on everything and I've never had any problems with them. Plus, they have affordable prices (2GB Disk Space, 25GB Bandwidth for $0.99/m).
That is the host I'm currently using, and I don't ever plan on going to a different host.
