    A Few Questions About Guitars

Alright, so right now, I'm trying to find a job because I am desperate for a new guitar. Now! my questions thus, are like this:

Currently, I have an Ibanez GSA60. So what do you think, would it better to tune up my current guitar by changing the bridge and pickups, or should I save a bigger amount of money for buying a new guitar?

the different questions regarding each option are below:

    ----------QUESTIONS REGARDING TUNE UP----------

So, if it's better to tune up the current one, then I was thinking about changing my pickups like this:

    -original- -tuned up-
    Neck: single humbucker
    Middle: single single
    Bridge: humbucker humbucker

so, about the pickups, can anyone recommend me on different quality humbuckers and single pickups and what are their feature?

and then, to replace my crappy no-locking tremolo bridge to a different one. Now another question here. Should I get a Tremolo bridge with locking (you know.. that Floyd Rose thing) or should I get a non-tremolo bridge? vintage tremolo bridges (the ones without locking) are not an option (I got one on my current guitar and I hate it). Basically, I never used my tremolo thing a lot, but I don't know.. maybe with a quality one it'll be different. So, can anyone recommend me on some different bridges?

    ----------QUESTIONS REGARDING NEW GUITAR----------

Well, this part will be shorter. If it's better to get a new guitar rather than tune up my old GSA60, what can you recommend me for a clear, solid, yet hard and heavy sound?

I was thinking of a Jackson "Warrior" WRXT, but I'm not sure, I never got to play one of those. Also, I thought of getting an Ibanez IC, and actually I got to play my friend's IC and I liked it a lot, but I don't remember the exact model. So, what do you think? Any comments about the guitars I mentioned above, any other recommendations perhaps?

    Thank you,
    Unleashed Hell.

I would recommend you use Floyd Rose Tremellos. Also, if you want a loud and clear and also heavy sound, a Jackson would definitely be my choice although, Ibanez and Epiphone have always served me great in the past. Especially, my old Epiphone.

Re: A Few Questions About Guitars

Hmm... I don't know... never like Gibson guitars much somewhy, just from the moment I saw them. The time when I heard one guy playing his Gibson didn't impress me much too. But I guess that I should try 'em myself though.

Yeah, Actually I thought that changing my crappy bridge to a Floyd Rose Tremolo.

But the big question is, should I get a NEW guitar, or would it be better to upgrade my CURRENT?

Anyhow, thanks for the tips, Iron Maiden.

Re: A Few Questions About Guitars

Well that just depends on how much you want to upgrade.

If you change the neck and bridge, parts and labor would put you close to a new guitar anyways.

I'd say just get a new one, then if something would happen to it, you'd have a fall back with your old one.

Unless you really like the feel of your old one. Which is the way I am with my Bass Guitar. I constantly spend money just to keep it in top shape, because every other bass I try just doesn't feel right.

Hmm... no.. I don't really like my current one. It's already a bit cracked here and there, and it doesn't sound that great too. Well, it's just another cheap and useful-for-beginners Ibanez. It's pretty damn old, too. My friend was using it for two years before I got it from him, and it's not really in best shape right now. I think I'd really prefer a new one.

    Thanks for the advice, Cheat!

Only if you suck at playing guitar like you Kaoii. =P

Anyways, Ibanez is really the thing I recommend. Mine has lasted 5+ years.

Sorry but an effect is not enough here... I gotta get me a new axe, the current one's pickups are all a bit rusty already and it doesn't sound that great :P

Aye, well, I think I'm gonna go and try out a few guitars sometime soon. Anyway, for now, I need some opinions on two Jackson guitars: The WRMG Warrior and the WRXT Warrior. I might buy one of them if I get the money, but I'd like to hear what people got to say on these two axes.

I like the look of the WRMG Warrior better. They're pretty close to the same, but the WRMG Warrior grabbed my eye a bit sooner. As far as sound quality goes, only you can decide that one. Just test em' out somewhere see what you like best.

    Both look sweet though.

Re: A Few Questions About Guitars

    Hey Unleashed Hell,

I saw you're best lyrics are from Dark Tranquillity, so i soppose you like that kind of genre the most? I may be wrong, but that's the same style as me... I love Death/Death Melodic/Trash metal the most.

I have a solid guitar for hard rock, from USA. And that's where i screwed myself, most of my friends love hard rock/heavy metal genre so i thought, what the hell, if they love that and wanna play an instrument, i'll join 'em.

Boom, after 2-3 concerts we broke up, cos that wasn't my style. Now I'm defenetly buying a Jackson Randy Rhoads, just need to work for a mounth more...

So, the point is, don't play what your friends like, play what you like. And if you like DT the most, you should TRY a Jackson and an Ibanez RG(Every RG's good).

You got a music store near you? Or somewhere you can go and actually test the guitars. It's up to you...

And if you like hard rock/heavy metal more, then buy a guitar like Iron Maiden has, it's abit expensive but it's the shit if you ask me. I used to have it from a friend. I had it like 2 weeks, and it's uber... you can literally cum when playing it. :)
