Who has been (or who was) the greatest 80s era band?

Im going with Metallica or Iron Maiden. Those 2 are just talented in music.
Any metal heads out there got any opinions?

Or maybe Twisted Sister!! or AC/DC!!

2000 .... so many bands but i think trivium, lamb of god are two unique bands.

Yes Trivium is good. I've read they wanted to be as succesful as Metallica.
As far as im concerned, they are doing very good so far. The drums are amazing works. Sabbath totally kicked ass during those years man. + Pantera....OMFG!..
They just own so much. Dimebag was the sickest guitarist there was!

Well if you want to talk album sales, AC/DC and Metallica ruled the charts.....but for personal opinions........i like megadeth =/ and Metallica's "kill em all"

Megadeath, Guns N' Roses man. Megadeath especially. They used to be so fucking popular...Guns N' Roses i'm not to sure about but... They fucking rule none the less. :D

Pantera wasn't as half as known as metallica or GNR,
not a chance, It was probably Metallica, or GNR.
even though Gn'r wasnt metal they were very popular but Metallica is still one of the best sellers

Yea, Metallica is still pretty amazing to me.
Plus Slayer, Pantera, and Iron Maiden were rocking those years too.

I think metallica, becose it was my first band lol, they pushed me to metal music.oh and another thing why they where best is cose metallica in 80s showed the world true thrash metal (kill em all \o/ )
