I don't like to be a mean mod, which is why I try to use humor to stop arguments. I'd rather have a friendly ending, then to give infractions and have people pissed off at each other. Just don't piss me off... That you'll regret.
Anywho back to the topic at hand...
I think it would be kinda neat to mix genres together, just to see what kind of sound you'd get. Ex. (jazz/metal) I think that could be pretty sweet if done right.
I agree. I find a lot of Symphonic Metal bands that incorporate the use of a string quartet into the music and it can work out really well. For example, Epica, is one of my all time favorite bands and not just because it's a female fronted band, but because they mix the two styles very well and they are really great musicians. Plus, Simone Simons is fucking gorgeous.

not saying they do, i know of and listen to atleast 1/2 of thoes listed there, was just trying to show how childish he was being :P
and yea i agree slipknots not "metal" metal, but its numetal and thats still a form of metal. its not rock or trance, and it sure as hell aint country so it should still be classified as metal.

Just because it has metal in the name doesn't make it metal and should be classified as metal. Slipknot is in no way, shape or form a part of the metal genre. See my thread here..
What he's saying is the majority of the "metal heads" do not like slipknot, because slipknot doesn't even fall under the metal genre.
So saying someone is a "True" metal head, and liking slipknot is polar opposite. It just doesn't work.

No, what I was saying is slipknot isn't metal so you cant say somebody is or isn't a metal head...
A wild exaggeration would me calling you a metal head if you listened to country... It just doesn't make sense. So if you call yourself a metal head, and like slipknot, you're still a metal head.
I'm a jazz freak, but I also listen to almost every other genre of music, but I still consider myself a jazz freak.
