Did anyone of you even read my thread Origins Of Numetal? Apparently not because it clearly explains that numetal is not a sub genre and it derives from the sub genres of metal. Now, mix that in with the mainstream media and you've got yourself a new genre and clearly it shouldn't even be called numetal. It's supposed to be called nucore.

seriously, why does it matter anyway? i still dont get why its not metal, and i'm wondering how they can get a grammy for "best metal performance" if they aint metal... woudn't they of all people know whats metal and what isn't?
btw i'm pretty sure mudvayne is alternative metal, not numetal. though now i'm REALLY confused as to how slipknot cannot be considered metal cos bands like crossfade and breaking benjamin are alt metal / numetal and i spose you would consider then more metal than slipknot?
but why is it then that we are getting the opposite feedback from everywhere else? cos fans sure consider them metal, the record companies consider them metal, and even the band themselves call it metal (not to mention the grammy for best METAL performance).

1. goth and know nothing about music and hang around hot topic all day.
2. someone who is trying to figure out exactly wtf metal is.
slipknot just sucks. seriously, if you have a band that needs TWO precussionists, thats just sad -_-. and theyre not that great. their riffs sucks, their lyrics are lame and i dont like em.

lol tons of people think they suck because theyre really not all that talented, everyone only praises their drummer joey jordisson or something like that and i dont even think hes that great, there are plenty of better bands that actually dont sound like crap in every song.
These bands aren't even numetal. They are hard rock. Very distinct difference.

As for melodic bands, Darkest Hour is pretty good.
