Bands that allow fans to record their shows
We all know that lots of bands out there jumped onto napster for music piracy, but now the latest craze is getting a hold of concert bootlegs. Now i dont see what the problem here is because the videos expose the bands to a lot more fans and those fans will eventually end up going to a concert of their own or buying actual band stuff.
You always here of big name artists, who are making millions upon millions of dollars whining about how they lost about $1k in profit.
So anywho if you can make sense of what i just posted, my question to you is
1)Do you support bands that allow fans to record bootlegs and why?
2) Does it make you angry to see big name artists whine about internet piracy (when infact this is exposing them to more fans) and complian over a few thousand dollars?
and finally
3) if you had a successful band, would you find if your fans shared your music over the net?

tbh...
bands dont get shit these days for what they record...
its the shows that make them the money/commercials/photos/sponsors.
a band will maybe get $1 per cd that they sell and then that is divided up.
versus a concert where people pay $40-50 a pop and then if a couple thousand people show up, after that main people get their share/resources they get the rest which is a nice amount of money.
if i was in a successful band, id be in it for the music and not sell out like most bands today.
in flames sold out...they lost their signature style but gained a shitload of fans.
same with shadows fall, the war within set them into pop culture so rapid it was unbelieveable, i saw one of their vids on MTV!!! (my sis watches it) not even on headbangers ball...
it all comes down to music or money, and music is what made the band...

yeah coz they probably did that too when they were just starting

not really because they just dont understand. i download mp3 all the time but if i really like the band ill buy one of their cds

lol i would be hosting them myself. but not all of the songs. maybe 3 from each album.
