Best band? Queen.
But i think what you ment to ask was peoples favorite band, because if you really were asking for the best band then many should change their post, as many of those bands aren't as good as for example Queen (see it like this, you might love the sound of a engine of a muscle car from the 60's, but that doesn't mean it's the best engine)
Anyway my favorite band would have to be Kane, it's a Dutch band, mind you though that it's not some crappy own language band, Kane is huge in my country and i'm sure if they were heard by the whole world (just like many other bands, there are just way to many bands out there that are excellent, but just can't break through), that they would be extremely popular all over the world.
Queen ended too soon, but they were kick ass. As for Bruce Dickenson, he is a little bitch. He skipped Dallas and I had to go to Arizona to see them at Ozzfest.
I have to say that i don't care much for Queens albums, they just sound boring, i do however really like their live concerts... damn that guy could sing good.

Rammstein IMHO, THere not a song i don't like from them, there always a mood for them, there not over sold, not over played, strong fan bace all over the world, And there just fucking good. Everyone likes them, once you hear all of there music. they do a little bit of everyhting..... Now only if they would come do some concerts here in Canada. They might be my fav band of all time, but the song belongs to Bleeding thought - on wings of lead.

Just because Manowar plays louder than anyone out there doesnt mean they're better. I must admit though i love a couple of manowar songs. "Fight until we die" is my favorite by them.
But if you really want my opinion, i would have to change it for like the millionth time and say "Death"
Chuck Schuldiner's singing is unmatched. I mean its more of a harsh yell type thingy that many bands try to emulate, but its just so awesome. Check out the cd's "The Sound Of Preserverence" and "Symbolic" Everything is just so freaking amazing i dunno, i guess it has to grow on you because i admit i didnt really like Death at first, but they really grew on my and now i think that they are amazing.
