Joe Satriani will win because to people who actually play music it's obvious that Coldplay lifted the chord progression straight from If I Could Fly. The only difference is that instead of a 4, 7, 3, 1 progression, it's a 6, 7, 3, 1 progression. But all in all a 6 and a 4 chord sound pretty much exactly the same. You get the same emotion conveyed when heard.

Well it's a pretty standard chord progression, in a standard time signature, in a different key, with variations.

How can you say their music is crap? Because according to Rolling Stone Magazine they had the #7 best album of the year. Does crap music make the top of the Billboard Charts? Just because you don't like it doesn't make it crap.
