Pretty late response, but i only got the album a few days ago (yes shame on me), frankly i was scared that i wouldn't like it, i loved Hybrid Theory, and Meteora was pretty damn good aswell, i played those albums so much.

As for this album, i think it's fantastic, i really love how they did different type of songs, they still got a bunch of songs that are what you "expect" from Linkin Park, like Given Up, No More Sorrow and What i've done, but songs like In Between, The Little Things Give You Away and Hands Held High which makes this album fantastic, the thing is that Linkin Park has a certain sound, now you can continue doing that and sound the same until the end of time, or you can try some new things, infact Mike Shinoda was quoted saying:
"We were looking back at the things that we had done in the past… and I think we just figured that we had exhausted that sound. It was easy for us to replicate, it was easy for other bands to replicate, and we just needed to move on,"

I truely believe they did a great job, and i'm glad they dared to make a change, as many bands never dare to create another/different sound because they're afraid what the fans will think, and that it will hurt them to much.

Minutes to midnight wasn't their best album imo, was far behind hybrid theory and meteora, but it's Linkin Park so it's still great. My favourite songs though are: Given up, No more sorrow and In pieces.

Given Up is definetly a great song, i truely love it, but i also really love In Between. I guess this album really fits me as i both like LP's harder songs, while i also love the softer stuff, not that LP really made that before, but i other bands that i listen to do have such songs.

In my opinion, Minutes to midnight is Linkin Parks best album, as i like that type of music better.

Although the three main albums they have made are all great.

The reanimination and the collision course i think its called are big let downs to Linkin Park as im not into that sort of stuff.
