    opeth ftw ;)

I don't really like classiftying heavy metal into a bunch of smaller more specific genres :p it's all about how well they play. I myself adore Children of Bodom and really enjoy Dragonfire. slayer good trash xD

Could you change "Brutal Metal" to "Brutal Death Metal". No such thing as Brutal Metal.

But yes...Brutal Death is my fav. I just love the speed, heavyness, dark atmosphere, and horrifing lyrics in it.

Iced Earth isn't thrash my boy...Iced Earth is HEAVILY infulenced by the power guitar style of Iron Maiden.

    Thrash is more like Anthrax.

i must say u forgot a few subgenre of metal: viking metal, doom metal, folk metal, epic folk metal, industrial metal, grind metal, gore metal.
hmm, kinda hard choosing my favorite one, cuz i hear em all, apart from black, grind, gore brutal, and very little death. but must say that my favorite bands are
Disturbed(Hardcore, i think, although some fools call it NU metal)

    Falconer(Power Metal)
    Soil(Hardcore)
    Deathstars(Industrial Metal)
    Ensiferum(Power Folk Metal)
    Amon Amarth(Viking Metal)
    Iron Maiden(British Metal/Metal Pioneers)
    Metallica(Old-Thrash, Now-Hard Rock).
    Aria(Russian Power Metal)
    Black Obelisk(Russian Thrash/Classic Metal-Like the pioneers style.)

Umm. No sir, they aren't. Iced Earth is Power/Speed Metal. They may sound like Prog or Thrash but that is only because they are more of a modern power metal group.

Dude, Prog Metal is an more agressive form of Power, Prog hence Progessive.

Iced Earth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As you see, they gain influence from all kinds of styles to make what IE is.
