Why do you like the genres you do and what are your views on other styles of music.
personally I listen to everything and anything. I'm not a fan of any particular gener because I'm a fan of music itself, so not matter the genre if the track is good then I'll listen to it.

mainstream music is the complete opposite to anything provocative, thus why it's mainstream.
it's a blend of the same all shite over and over again and only very rarley does a good mainstream track come out and when it does it's overplayed and ruined by the ignorant masses.

Well I prefer all other music genres than metal and pop.

Im a bit out of touch with the exact names of each Genre. Infact there are getting to be so many now its a bit overwhelming for the non-guru such as myself.
I like a huge variety of Music. My playlists are never comprised of music from just one Genre, infact I have found that if I don't know If I like something or not, it is mostly because I haven't been exposed (haven't heard it) to it before.
My playlist today consists of a crazy mix of: Josh Groban, JJ Johnson (jazz blues Trombone), Sara Brightman (Opera), Sublime, Blue Man Group, Lords of Acid.... and more.
I get cravings for certain kinds of music or certain songs and I indulge myself. And always I give everythign a chance before calling it crap.
(although its more difficult for me to give some Rap songs and Country songs a chance :P)
not all metal is heavy you know, like iron maiden said, it can be as heavy or soft as it wants to be, examples of softer metal = Nightwish, Epica, Lacuna Coil.
Im with Iron Maiden as well. Metal is beautiful and yes it is far more intellectually stimulating than "i drunk that 40 and a beat that ho" trash.
Well, Iron Maiden already said most of what I had in mind. Basically, I'm not only all about Metal, it's just that I like music a bit more creative and complex than most of the mainstream stuff.

Same here. My playlist varies depending on what I want to listen to. But, for the most part I just listen to metal.
