This just made me laugh so hard. It's so funny that today's music critics actually dub music like this "hardcore" and let youngsters believe it. To be totally honest it's pathetic, no one knows how to label this music properly because "emo" sounds too negative and depressing. So they come up with some bullshit like "grindcore" and "post hardcore." When it's not even close to being hardcore at all.
Now, hardcore isn't necessarily reserved for metal only either. I'll be the first to say it. Jazz can be hardcore and Blues Guitar can also be hard-fucking-core. Hardcore is reserved for musicians with a sort of raw talent that is unique. Bands that conform to the mainstream aren't hardcore and for that matter aren't even musicians as far as I'm concerned.
metal is just mad cause of the technique some guitarist use and the way it sounds like its heaps thck and fast paced, i like rave music also cause i just love that sound and the bass makes u got mad crazy ay haha
Indie Rock all the way ;p
all though i listen to almost everything as flaeming said, indie is the main genre that i listen to.
i cant listen to the screaming/growling stuff because it gives me a headache, and i like to listen to music where i can understand the lyrics ;p
[quote=Iron Maiden;2706744]To me, Metal offers the most in music, with intelligent compositions and interesting lyrics. As it is a non-mainstream genre, and is often classified as
LOL. Well, first of all, 'Emo' is just a stupid label for depressive music.
Emo was originally known as "Emotive Hardcore", which is similar to "Post-Hardcore" or whatever you want to call music these days, as there are hundreds to choose from.
But I'm also with Iron Maiden on this one.
But, The Ramones own. :)
*Makes red bandanna hang out of back pocket of tight jeans with The Clash shirt and skates off*
Punk rockers also own.
I listen to anything, but not things that irritate me like Metal..
erm, rap makes me happy when sad, some rock, some heavy rock, and blues make me pretty happy-ish too, well sometimes, i hate rave/MC, in my view i think all ravers and MC's should be shot and those who like this genre, it sucks, it's so annoying you can't even hear what they are saying and the music is just some shitty crap, lyrics + music are one of the main things in songs, well in my view, so what's the point in having a song altogether if you can't hear them?
Well...in this type of genre you can sometimes hear things what they say...mostly oh yes yes yes yes f*** f***, etc etc, nice?
Alright then, I get everything. See, thing is that most people would come saying crap about different genres when they actually have never really listened to it. Hell, I used to be like that myself, but no more.
I am totally a metal personne. I don't like listening to r&b but it doesn't bother me if my friends do. And I don't bother people with what they listen to.
I like Hardcore, not Jumpstyle (it sucks)
And Dutch music because i am Dutch :D
Hardcore because it its very hard if you are angry on someone! so try it out
Dutch music because sometimes i like it!
Greetzz, Fab
Let's see... I like it back in the old days when you could say metal and people know what bands you were talking about. From Metallica (classic...metallica), Suicidal Tendencies, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and fucking Slayer (and Anthrax :D). I'm sick of stupid sub-genres, but would you seriously want something like Slipknot in the same genre as Black Sabbath (in which it's not even metal and people put it in the genre because of the fucking distorted guitars...)? I sure as fuck would NOT.
And when you look up Unearth and fuckwads can't even put it in a genre. wtf!? (for the longest time on metalstorm.ee it's been classified as undefined or something)
Trust me for those who don't like metal, try stoner metal like Neurosis and Pelican I'm sure those two will blow your minds :) (it's not as heavy as metal, but keeps its roots). And for us extremists out there....well we got ours ;)
