Tbh, i also like both of the genres, and i can rap and i play an electric guitar (i mostly play heavy stuff), so..there's a bit of a battle here, but, i've been studying rap for a long time now and like i listen to that mostly, it's also my favorite genre so, +1, rap ftw. XD

Well, a sub-genre is one that has roots in the genre it derived from. Which means it falls under that category, but it is actually different music.

Subgenre is a subcategory of a genre, so sayin saying something is a genre within a genre is essentially the same thing.

I didn't say it was a genre within a genre. You are putting words in my mouth. They are different genres but Metal is derived from rock. It has roots but is essentially different. And next time...try not to mock me. It's insulting and not very wise.

Rock and Rap are just way too different genres, you can't compare them. See, if you can't compare Disturbed with Iron Maiden (just a random example), which are both related to the genre of Metal, then surely you can't compare 2Pac with Metallica, where the fist is Rap and the second is Metal.
