Old Punk Rock = Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash.
New Punk = Hmm...depends what you call punk, I Predict A Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs, well, just the chorus, that sounds like punk. I suppose punk nowadays doesn't really exist :S
Rock = I'll name some songs I like :P Foo Fighters, Finch, The Used, My Chemical Romance, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Velvet Revolver. That's about it, lots of other unknown bands too.

pick up bands like: dream theater, angra, iron maiden, shadows fall, black sabbath, lamb of god, judas priest, demons/wizards, blind guardian.

Put some Kaiser Cheifs on it :D definatley "I predict a Riot" pretty good. Don't really know many tbh :(.

yeah i agree. dont put that emo shit on your i-pod. most def put the dream theater and the metal stuff. and maybe some led zep, cold play, DMB, Allman Brothers, and whatever stuff you like to listen to i guess.
oh yeah, and lamb of god is kinda scary. friggin 11th hour.
lol dont dis emo, some of it has potenial, but im talking dashboard an stuff. not new emo tht stuff just crap, but emo for sittin in room lol. for ur ipod i would say...

agh i dont like meshuggah... but rest of those badns are pretty cool, i respect dashboard for songwriting ability, but NOT the music.
well if you want very very high quality music i do recommened nightwish, you can fall asleep or headbang to it at the same time.

There are so many different music types its stupid now.
Rock: Sabbath, Maiden, VR, Metallica, System Of A Down, A Perfect Circle (They are unknown but good :)), Tool and Slayer.
Punk... Not sure i don't really listen to it. Only True punk band i could name are The Sex Pistols.
Rock:Bad Religion, Coheed & Cambria, Everclear, Jimmy Eat World, Muse, Nirvana, Breaking Benjamin, Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Puddle of Mudd, Queen, Kiss
Punk Rock: NOFX, Dropkick Murphy's, Rancid, The Offspring
There's lots more, it all just really depends on what YOU like, not us... just get music you know you'll like, not what we say is good. No one is going to have the same opinion.
some Racer-X, ensiferum, megadeth, children of bodom, a couple of Lamb of God songs, maybe 1 or 2 GWAR songs, some cliche arena rock bah...i dunno
