Not because they're talented, but because they have the "look."

Take a gander at Kings of Leon for example. This is when they first started getting real press back in 2003. With their album "Youth and Young Manhood." This is what they looked, and sounded like back then. This is the sound that got them started getting fame in the UK, but it wasn't picking up in America, at all.

SO an A&R team and a few producers later and this is what you get. The new and improved Kings of Leon.

Big fuckin difference. Now they are a huge sensation in America, because they totally changed they way they look and sound. That's what happens when you stop caring about your own music and let others write it for you. Sure their fans say that it's just their music "growing and expanding," but name 5 artists who actually cared about their music and not money, who changed that much.

All of that being said I am agreeing with you that almost nothing in this industry is real anymore. That just went to show it. As far as the Music biz killing people... that's just stupid.
Yeah, like I said though, the term "industry" is used loosely. Usually it's used as slang to refer to the higher ups in main stream music.

The fact that I think they're killing people isn't the fact that I believe it 100%, it's just that it seems like a probability and the title in my other thread would get people to actually look at it opposed to posting one sentence to get their post count up. I look at pattern, how all big stars got wheemed onto pills, and how they act during it, and off it. Stars get used, abused and most of the time it's the managers getting them addicted to these pills. Think about it, Michael for example obviously didn't pick up the pills himself others did. How easy would it be to substitute some pills as something to weaken the heart?

All I'm trying to do is show people that there's other information than what the TV tells you, and hopefully have them consider both possibilities instead of the most obvious and common one.
