    Need help with recording.

Heya, i've got a question to the guys who play/record guitars in a band...if you ever did, how?

I tried to use Cubase LE, but man that's too fucking hard... Now i'm using Mixcraft and the sound is pretty damn weird...

I was wondering, how to convert it to mp3 also? Is there some kind of program for that? And which programs do you use and recommend for recording?

    Thanks in advance.

I used Cubase first. I just found a lot of tutorials on the webz. But, now I use GarageBand for Mac.

Also, you might want to try Guitar Pro. I messed with it a little but not much, I hear it's very awesome.

Adobe Audition is what I currently use, love it.

I'm trying to learn Pro Tools, but it's confusing as hell.

Also the program you use to record should convert it to .mp3 on it's own. When you're exporting your file just look at the save options and find .mp3.

Well... best results would be if you make some money and go record at a professional studio, with professional equipment, and with people who know what they're doing. That's what we are planning to do, as soon as we can.

    Re: Need help with recording.

Well yeah we will do that, but first we need to make our songs and practice them... we're sick of doing only covers. I've tried to make the songs trough guitar pro but it just sounds retarded, and half of the things you can't put...

    Thanks guys.

    Audacity, v. good.

Or, as Unleashed said, go find a pro studio.
BTW, you can change formats with audacity.

Well, I don't know, GP is kinda enough for me to write my material and send it to the band members to learn it. Trust me, with the right skills, you can do quite a lot with GP.

    Re: Need help with recording.

Well yeah that's true, i use GP myself for 2 years now... But it took me 5 hours to do the guitar + it wasn't so bright as it should be cos i couldn't find some things so i just gave up...

And i can't use Adobe Audition, it says my processor isn't good enough...so i downloaded Audacity and it's awesome. Simple and pro. :)

For recording samples, I like Adobe Audition too. I've got it installed right now, and it's great. Too bad my PC gets stuck a lot while I'm using it+crappy sound card...
