PA System!
I'm looking at purchasing a PA system. Atm I am straining my voice a bit to sing over my lead guitarist when we practise but as we are moving to a new practise hall I will need some equipment. My budget is anything under 150 and I need a mic with it too. Basically I need everything I need to be able to sing through it, also a mic stand. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a package or a site where I could find one? Or name any brands that are good.
Thanks in advance.

hmmmm, i agree , a mic is important, if you are really taking it seriosly? 150 needs to be raised, a mic is much dearer than that, and a great way me and my band did was, i got this recording software called quartz , for my pc(free) used my computer mic, and put all 3 of us on the computer, layered it together, and it sounded great, you should try it,

Well I am taking it seriously but I am also buying a guitar to learn that too, and a 16 year old doesn't have much money :P It will only be for practising and some small gigs. I have seen some somewhere but are there any brands you can suggest?
EDIT : Where can I find this Quartz software?

www.download.com , search for it there, this lets you know how it could sound, it worked really well for us, i am also 16, i know what you mean, atm , i got a cruiser electric guitar and a custom made acoustic, if i where you? i would get a cheap acoustic? they all sound great, but electric are easier to pay, i can play anything on electric, have trouble with some on acoustic, i cant get bohemian rhapsody on acoustic, it sounds shit! and mics??? not sure about brands there, but with your budget you should just get an acoustic they all sound the same, but get a nice set of strings ok?

I've just purchased a Marshall starter kit just to get to grips with the basics and that then afterwards I'm going to purchase a Shine guitar as they look god damn sexy. Thanks for the help anyway, downloading the program now :) I'll get a PA system later.

I haven't tried guitar yet. I'm starting to learn once I get this starter package. I'm the lead singer of this band but I reckon it would be better if we had an extra guitarist so I decided to learn guitar. Also it looks cooler ^_^

I'm alright now. Found a PA system with a cab so I can plug guitar into it, saves getting an amp, I'll get one later. This is what I'm going to buy later.

Comes to around 400 pounds which is enough for the moment, for my practise and to learn guitar.

North Wales. There is a shop near me but I'd probably pay 20 quid for just the tuner.
