No psychedelic music thread is complete without Shpongle.

    ‪Shpongle - Divine Moments Of Truth‬‏ - YouTube

Me and my friends used to listen to this song every time we dropped acid. I cannot begin to describe the shit I've seen while listening to this song.

Funny story, the first time we watched this video while tripping we thought it was an amazingly well done psychedelic animation. It wasn't until after the song had finished and we skipped back through the video that we realised it was a still image. Blew our minds out the water.

    Re: Psychedelic musics

just straight up psychedelic music? like now in the dawn of the second decade of the 2000? No, not really, not in the mainstream for sure. however, there are many underground bands that incorporate the genre in their music. bands such as Porcupine Tree, whom are very Floyd influenced. furthermore I think early Floyd with Syd Barrett had the wrong genre primarily being "psychedelic." I personally think that Barrett's work was some of the first avant-garde or experimental music in the category of Rock music.

if I were you I would look into a lot of modern day avant-garde bands or experimental bands it would be that genre that incorporates psychedelic elements in their music. just google "a list of avant-garde bands" and go down the list and see if you can find songs of them on youtube to see if you like them. definitely check out the band Porcupine Tree. get an idea of what avant-garde is all about and perhaps try putting together and experimental band with psych elements in it, but also include some more modern rock sound in it as well.
