I think they both suck. Both of them do it for the money, not for the people. If you really have to listen to "Modern" rock and metal, rather than the old school metal, try Deathstars, Soil and Disturbed.

unleashed hell is totally right... this kind of bands are pathetic...
they are bands in the world that have 10 ppl(example) for audience and they still dont stop playing what they like to play.......... ppl should start to hear some real music not some pop guys that are trying to make money of them...

Greenday is pathetic bullshit. I hate the entire "Punk" rocker concept. It's ridiculous. System Of A Down however kicks some serious ass. Music with a global perspective. Take their song "BOOM" For example. =)

true. they are two compeletly different genres.
Green Day is some kind of a Rock/Pop shit, and SOAD became some kind crap lately. they always were NuMetal, but at least it was nice in the begining. Now they suck.

and again, they both now do that just for the money, not for the music, and this makes it 999% pure shit.

Green Day is no longer punk. And punk is an offshoot of the Rock genre.
