The purpose is simple.
There's a tune locked in your mind, but you don't know the name.

Search engines are not yet sophisticated enough to search by sound, so this is your beta search engine for that song you've longed to know.

You'll also help others find their melody as they in turn may help you.

Because sound is so complex I can't exactly give a template of how to articulate your song. But lyrics would help. A tune on the other hand may help if you visually show the beat.

_ could represent low. - could represent high.
/ could represent the sound increasing in pitch. \ could represent the sound decreasing in pitch.

Ultimately, state your own key to make it clear what tune is playing in the back of your head.

You need to fix up your post...It's only roughly 70% understandable.

No idea if your saying your so awesome that you can help recognize any song or that your advertising some sort of online service which does that(I know there's a few out there that does that).

And telling people to say what the tune or key isn't a good idea, since only very little amount ever study music to know whats what.
