Connection Failed Lin2world

Hi all, I hope some one can help
I am trying to install the new C4 server but when I execute the server.exe I get the following erors: Connection failed Lin2db and Connection failed Lin2world. I have reinstalled the sql server several times but still getting the same fault, I have also checked the ODBC and re installed it but no luck. Now I guess the server exe is not finding the data base, but I cant figure out why.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you create the correct databases and run the DB Scripts? You didn't mention doing it, so it's possible that you forgot about it.

I have followed the same procedure for my previous C3 setup which worked fine, I have tried the install again since I posted with the same result, I think it may be time to leave it for a day or maybe download the pack again, maybe I got a corrupt download, but anymore suggestions would be appreciated.

Im intrested to see if this works beacuse I two had this problem and when i ran the reg it fixed the lin2db but the connection to lin2world still fails.

I've rechecked everything and as far as i can see there isnt anything wrong, so im intrested in how you get your problem solved.

I found a post about this problem on the forum. You have to use the chinese DB's located in the L2server folder.

to install them into the DB open enterprise manager/right click on lin2db/newtask/database restore/choose from device/and use the files from the l2server folder do that for both database and you will cease getting the connection failure.

edit the linex.ini and put your db user id and pw in it :)

Bingo , no more fail! the linex.ini is in your server folder..
