Run ODBC.reg (ODBC.zip) if you haven't done it already. It's required for the patch to connect to the database.

Sometimes the auth server tries to use lin2db.user_data even though in the configuration file UserData is set to false. To prevent the error message, just create the table user_data in lin2db and add the columns user_char_num and uid, both of type int.

Do what palace said. A properly configured client will solve the problem with the missing table. Anyway, if you're new to SQL Server, learn how to use it! You don't want to be forever unable to help yourself, do you?

I had the same problem with DB, but when added a table with this 2 cols in lin2db, on connection tells me the same - wrong login/pass..

Ignore what I said about adding the table because it doesn't help. The only thing that works is using a patched client. One way to patch your client is to download l2encdec (http://dstuff.l2wh.com) and run the patcher as described in the included tutorial. Next, use l2encdec.exe to decrypt l2.ini. Change the server address (and other settings if you want) and then re-encrypt it. If you are using a C4 server, also download System 2 and extract it to your system folder.

So, the point is in the client? hm.. not shure..
before I used Java-server: INI and connection worked fine..
