    GameServer closes at a fixed time.

    Hello,

    I am using S2 files and GS 1.00.18. Every night (between 1am and 2am) GS closes. I have never stayed up to actually witness this happen so I honestly do not know what is causing this. I did not see anything in the logs either.

    If I leave the server running for the night all I'll see in the morning is a message that I have been disconnected and the GS is simply closed.

    Now, I am no expert and definitely a rookie in this area, and for now I cannot really provide more information regarding this as I have not investigated this enough myself. I am simply hoping that someone knows what could possibly causing this so that I can avoid sleepless nights :-)

    you said GS closes it self? or just u cannot login again.
    give us the LOG file of GS/JS/CS/EXDB/DATASERVERS/

    Yes. I wake up in the morning to find my GS simply closed. I am planning on setting it up for the night so that it produces logs. I'll share them tomorrow.

    Hmm weird to have such error..for me i use the same e xact files and no issue like this...
    anyway try replacing this dataservers and joinserver and try again

    Notice how the timestamps are almost exactly the same. This leads me to believe that this could be network related, but I just don't know what could be causing this.

    can u make sure 55906 is the correct port? check startup.cfg of the muserverstartup.exe which ports are there for ds and ds2?

    Shouldn't wrong config prevent the GS from running in the first place though? This is a little strange that it always fails at the same time ,regardless of the startup time O_o

    Mystery solved!

    I was up one night as I came up with an idea and wanted to see whether it would work or not. At 1am I noticed a windows notification stating that my anti-virus started a scan. It turned out that my anti-virus had a scheduled scan once a day at 1am and that it was responsible for shutting down my server.

    Let this be a lesson to anyone else who might experience unexpected issues like this one. Check your anti-virus activity! :-)
