I am new in VB and this guide don't work for me. The was a lot of error when debuging.
You guide was too confuse. You create 2 button, but you do nothing with the "Start Updating" button.
The progress bar don't work, don't know where to put the code "ProgressBar1.Value = ProgressBar1.Value + 10", and my VB don't know that such code.

I design my launcher like this. And how to do click register and open register page in the Browser form.

Maybe a good starting point to read all necessary data from your registry. :)
Heres an example.
Whit this we are able not just reading the zips location but rewriting some keys like the resolution of the client...
