How to make backup of your database
There is a little tutorial how to make backup of your mssql database MuOnline,Ranking and others :)
Just follow this steps :
Backing Up SQL Databases
With an SQL database, the files needed for a backup can be copied to another directory, another drive, floppy disk, tape drive. We recommend keeping a daily backup on a two week cycle.
A full backup of GoldMine on SQL Server requires you to back up the GoldMine system files and the SQL database.
You can use the Back-up Databases option in GoldMine to backup the following, even when you are using SQL as your database platform:
*
Attachments directory
*
Reports directory
*
Templates directory
*
Linked Documents directory
To Perform a Full Backup
1.
Copy the following files to a safe backup file. The table lists the files and typical locations. This backs up the GoldMine system files.
Location
Files
\GoldMine\
*.exe
\GoldMine\
*.D*
\GoldMine\Reports
*.FP
All other subdirectories of \GoldMine\
*.D*
2.
To backup up the SQL database, select Start>>Programs>>Microsoft SQL Server>>Enterprise Manager. The SQL Server Enterprise Manager window appears.
3.
Expand Console Root until you locate the correct MuOnline database on the server.
4.
Right-click on the database name. From the local menu, select All Tasks>>Backup Database. The SQL Server Backup dialog box appears.
5.
Type the Database and Name, if they are different from what is automatically applied. You can then specify the database location, set to append, and set a schedule for regular backups. Click Help, for specific information on SQL backup settings.
Note: For complete information, see the SQL Server online Help and SQL Books Online.
I hope is useful :) Thank you !
