Packing Main.exe to protect dll's and other files

Packing with MoleBoxPro

Download: MoleBoxPro v2.6.5 (2570)

Run the MoleBox and open the main.exe:



Open the root tree:



Add the files you want to protect(always protect item.bmd and player.bmd in case your anticheat can't do that):



Click on options and mark those options:



Click on pack to Box:



Done ;)

Packing with Themida

Download: Themida v1.8.5.5 Full

Run Themida.exe and open your Main:



Mark those options:



On protection option, select file patching:



On XBundler, add the files you want to protect. Use the option "Never write to disk", if somehow you get crash while protecting, you can also use "Overwrite always". This will make the files visible but everytime you run the Main.exe, those files will be overwritten.



Then click on protect and it's done(don't forget to add your main.exe to restricions because antivirus will detect it as a threat because it's a packet).

This will pack the main with the dll's you want and other files too to a single .exe file and encrypt all, providing more security against crack.
I will bring themida soon for sronger packet.

ulfsark, nice guide, can i pack all the dlls in root folder? so there's just Data and main.exe in mu client folder? is there a limit of dlls packed? is there any downside of packing a lot of dlls into 1 .exe?

You can pack them wherever you want and they won't be visible anyway.
I never tried packing more than 4 or 5 files because there's no need for that but I don't think there's any restriction.

Themida is detected as virus on some antiviruses and some noobs run when they see it, it's better to use molebox, the thing is the .dll files from the main can be extracted using some methods (the main file can't, only the rest)

Themida is seen as virus by most of antivirus software (and your players get virus warning ), and both themida and molebox that you upload are old and can be unpack very easy with right tools (OllyDRX is one of the tools that have lots of unpacking scripts) .Maybe if you use the official molebox or themida with license, not every kid with minimal knowledge in unpacking can mess with your packer.

You'd be better of recalling the files from the server. I'm going to be releasing a tool/dll to do this in a few weeks!

But this is still a good idea for people new to creating servers.

People who have pro servers, buy their license and software, or hire an coder to make an custom packer for their files....
I just make an observation about this tutorial and the software used here, you do not have to be stupid, and the point of my post was to use original non cracked software if you want professional protection.

the sad thing about molebox cracked versions is.. it can be unpacked by some ollydbg script. i've seen it over the internet and i stop using it :P
