The server is another history... all applications are write for win, with a emulator u can't run like the original...

First - MySQL DOES support stored procedureshttp://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/...rocedures.htmlQuote:

Third - Everyone knows that MU (both server and client) are written for windows. ALL windows applications use DLLs. Ever heard of Wine ? http://www.winehq.com/
Also.. the client uses more intensive DLL calls than the server files.
Fourth, you did not mention that the server uses ODBC for database access, but there is also ODBC support in Linux/Wine as well.
Lastly, you tell Me to show you ?!? Sure, np I get $150(USD) per hour for consulting. If you want it for free... Read, Learn, Do :)
Sorry for my last post. I was mistaken. I get the same error with the 1.0+ clients (the client however launched. But there was only a tiny window). trying ot fix it somehow,Quote:

I allready wrote this at linuxquestions.org
Ok:
This should be the easiest way to make the client work in linux:
Download wine from winehq.com or use apt-get
Install wine
Enter a bash shell
Type wine, press return, and wait for it to create a folder called .wine (hidden) into your users folder.
download the dmuo linux patch: http://t10web.com/dmuolinux.tar.bz2
download skyteams launcher builder.
Open a bash shell and cd into your launcher creators folder.
Type: wine LauncherMaker.exe (or whatever it is called) and press return.
Make a launcher with your IP and port, without any options. Only the IP, port and name. (you must be logged on as root)
Unpack the dmuo linux patch, and remove Launcher.exe
Unpack your MU client to any folder.
unpack the wine package from the dmuo linux patch, copy the hidden .wine folder from the dmuo patch to your users folder (where you have the former .wine folder). Replace it. (This should include all the values in regedit)
Copy the launcher you made into your mu clients folder.
Now open a bash shell and cd into your mu clients folder.
Now type: wine Launcher.exe, press return
Press connect
Enjoy!
Global Mu online.
Ok so since they upgraded the version and decided to force you into using their launcher which is not supported under linux because of gameguard;I decided to take things into hands myself.
I have no idea what this servers status is...
I made a patch which will allow you to bypass gameguard (I don't know who cracked the main.exe, sorry) using their original launcher and then launch the client. I launched the client and I got to the boat screen, but there is no server to choose there. Now I am wondering if the GameServer is offline or if it's just because I replaced the main.exe with another version (usually I would get a message here).
Anyway you can get the patch here:
http://t10web.com/linuxglobal.tar.gz
GUIDE:
Get wine from: http://www.winehq.com
Install wine
Open a bash shell and type: wine
*It will now make a hidden folder called .wine into your users folder
Download the linux patch: http://t10web.com/linuxglobal.tar.gz
Download the client ( ZIP package)
Unpack the client anywhere
Unpack the Linux patch
Copy everything inside the patch's client folder and paste the files into your mu clients folder.
Rename the wine folder inside the linux patch into .wine and replace your .wine folder in your users folder.
Open a bash shell
Cd into your mu clent folder
Type: wine mu.exe
Press connect.
NOTE! This patch IS NOT FOR WINDOWS USERS! IF I WILL SEE WINDOWS USERS DOWNLOADING IT, THEN I WILL BAN THEM FROM MY PAGE!
Sincerely yours Michael Tomaszewski --
