as far as i can remember u can add ip's manually :S
for the auto ban for normal players u need to set higher number :D
for added protection, you can also look at teh logs for the possible attackers and have their ip noted and add them to yah blacklist in yar firewall or any program that blocks ip xD.

That is no fix man, a good configured professional server should stay online at least a week before going on manual maintenance mode...
Get better dedicate server with 4-8 cores cpu + 8 GBs ram
