Today, i had that "error" with Central.exe, and because of that, users could not open main.exe (Connection Error). I have to restart Central.exe, and all started working fine again... but what was the reason? I need to know it and avoid future headaches :P

Use crc protection, if u say to prevent crack the answrs it's NO. Because PS 2.1 have this system.
