Could it be the end of RSPS as we know it?
Runescape has closed yet another great server down, this server being Dodian.
Could this be a sign that Jagex is fighting back? And getting rid of RSPS?
I sure as hell hope not ;D
I think Dodian got closed cause it was making money out of Jagexs products.

Wow,I think this is because they charge for premium. For those of us who have a donation, but do not require it to get the full game, it is fine. He's milking people, when a private server should be free

But you are able to say "donation" and it gives you new areas and items in-game.

But I don't think they did. They made it a requirement to get things that are already in the game. Take WowScape, a World of Warcraft P server. They can do what they do because it's mostly custom items. You donate to help support them, and as an incentive, they will award you with custom items, or ingame items. You can still fully enjoy the game without the need to donate. From what I was hearing, "donating" is almost a requirement

Obviously, the key to a great server is too, not force your players to donate, but to get them to donate at their own accord.
Dodian wasn't even that popular, I had only heard of the source and that's it tbh. Don't forget that when a server closes, a new server is created.
And never forget Ragescape!

Also, they arn't worthless, they are a way of learning Java and displaying your work and abilities.

And they are popular, the most popular server acually, because it's been around since 2005
Most RuneScape servers (95%) would have around 5-15 players

They seem to be closing down the biggest servers, they won't really care about servers that have 10-30 people online as they are so quiet.
They are closing all their servers and keeping Dodian Wars open.
@Steve; people heard of the source, which then had links to their website hence why they attracted RSPS creators. Also, their are lots of popular servers that you never hear of. I had never heard of Batttlescape until my friend showd me their website.
