I want you guys to tell me what you think would bring developers back, and promote learning?
I had a few ideas a while back, but this time, I'mma make it happen. Name off a few ideas, and I'll think about putting em into action!

Clean up the section. As in combine a few areas.
Like put tutorials in with the RS Knowledge Base.
Put the Help with the Releases.
I don't have any other ideas but to start coding a new server.
While Jolt is a good source, it won't attract as many as I thought. Because it is a c# based server, unless all the protocol is laid out, it cannot be expanded to many other revisions, since c# developers might not wanna peek into the java-based clients.
Not only that, but our developer/learner ("Leecher") ratio is very low. I can say that there are... 3-5 of us here that know what we're doing, with maybe 2-3 of us active, and the rest are just here to pick up on some tutorials, or post a download of some type. Unfortunately this won't help us grow.
I was thinking of documenting some sources, and a client, so that I can better teach how things work, rather than just posting tutorials.
I've come back from a few years back - my account got banned but now it's unbanned. I'm not sure if anybody remembers me? I made the popular runescape server ScarScape which I'm starting to catch up on a few old members now on msn, its pretty cool lol.
But anyway I'm looking to get back into creating servers and stuff so hiya I'm here to help when you need me.
To be honest I was going to look into Jolt and learn and such, but then I saw it was 508.
Honestly, the game didn't change for the better.
Arggh 508 is much better imo, thats if you can build a stable framework because using something like pali's will just run you into trouble.
But yea 317 was good but its fun to experiment what you can do with 508, even though mainly everything released for it is total shit these days.
If it helps, i'll be coming back in the coming weeks Ghosty, been reading through some books whilst i've been moving house and therefore not having net, and it's enticed me back to want to start coding for rs servers again, doubt i'll jump into the jolt environment anytime soon though, got very little to no experience with using C/C++ unfortunately (though this will change when i start uni in september and it's taught alongside java as part of the course).
So i'd also be interested in seeing the section revived, and i'll be glad to help where i'm needed/can![]()
Let's get some recent developments going. Let's face it, newcomers don't want 508, they want 600+.
I don't like anything higher than 474. Unfortunately, i won't develop it if I don't like it. I'm in the middle of a project decision. I'm not sure whether I want to revamp and fix some older sources for people, or develop a new framework for everyone to use.
I'd like to have a 317 source with Air Guitar and all the new emotes. For like RSMV's and stuff

I guess I'll have to do it myself since some people are too lazy to even try and they say it's impossible.

Also, is there any completely blank sources that are 317? I mean like where the home town is Lumbridge and there are no NPC's or commands? If not then I would like to see a source that is a good one that I can scrap down.
I'm willing to join this project.
We need to do something big to promote the section.
