Since I have heard this has been leaked along with the fact I haven't had a release in awhile, I might as well give this older version of the Flag from a few weeks back. (Don't worry Mocro, we will make you an even better flag!) A lot of people were curious on how vertex animation worked along with animations in general, and until I get around to making a tut I hope this suffices.
I also have included the main PSD (the effect PSD I kept), but for my own personal reasons I have collapsed some of the layers. It may just be me being greedy, but those are 2 hours of painting I will never get back, and if you want to change the metal pieces, you can paint them yourself. The flag itself I left fairly open for changes, so you can add your own symbol or icon there in its place if you choose to do so.
Specs:
Verts:412
Quads: 292
Textures: 2 (256x256, 64x64)
Frames: 90*
Total size: 577kb (mesh: 64.1kb tex01: 64.1kb tex02: 4.12kb anim: 441kb**)
* I know, it's a little overboard for the animation, but i want to make the flag look pretty smooth D:
** Vertex animations take a lot more data
... and as a bonus for going the extra mile and opening this spoiler, I also give you this mine cart for whatever reasons you might want to have it. Sorry, I didnt give the PSD since this is completely hand painted. Too bad D:.
*The undercarriage is not textured correctly since i had no real need to do so.*
So did you hand-code the vertex animation ANI format? That's a lot of exported frames!
Nah I used the vertex animation export style from the mesh exporter in the source. Looking back on it now I should of done the same thing as MAIET does with flags, but wind speed would have been through the roof, and i'm guessing since my flag is horizontal glitches would have happened.
Am I free to use this in my Capture the Flag mode?
