It's super-old, so I was pretty much one of the first ones to use it for a GunZ loading screen, I guess.

True. It's not 'just that' but looks like it.

I've noticed that many loading screens people make are unrelated to the actual theme of the game. I not sure if it's just me but I think that loading screens should have some relation to the Gunz theme, something like a medieval look. Just some thoughts.
