changing EXP table

I almost set up my server. The last thing I'm dealing with is changing exp table.That seemed easy, yeah,it is easy to just hex.But I changed the first E803(1000) to E703(999) of both game.exe and server.exe,and login,then appcrash occurs.
Why and How to fix?? It will be appreciated if someone could tell me.
