Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Gosh, such good times.
I can remember, when you used to go to Ruinen to level, and you would see this dude, with 2 polearms, at this point your thinking "OhEmGee, pl0x tell how get 2 weapons".
my PT experience started at around the age of 9. At the time, i didnt have the internet at my house, so i was playing this marvellous game at my cousins, sometimes i would be able to get on and level. I can remember going to the map a step on from GoF, it really brought a sense of community, where you would have 10-12 level 11's then there was 1 summoning monster crystals, and you would always look out for a priestess, so that you could party with a load of people and have her heal your Hobgoblin XDDD.
Good times :).
EDIT: Anyone remember the HATE you felt for those greedy Koreans, as they mutilated PT, leaving you with nobody to hate at there KS's? I mean, i love PT, but at the time, they really shouldnt have made it P2P. They had no English support, the site was vulnerable to hacking, and the game was old, even then!
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Yes,
I think the best Pristontale Server would be x5 exp! not more.
I tried do that but slipped to around 60 lol, the best time I had with pt is not as a Admin..Gm..High level in private server it was 3x 4x 7x 8x in ept trained in low maps 70% of the maps lost them value!
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Koreans weren't allowed to connect to ePT, just as we couldn't connect to KPT... I remember the Brazilians leaving in droves as they got their own server... and when it went P2P.
There where a lot of KSers and Looters among them, but some really great guys too. I really missed them when they where gone. :(:
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Same here, so many members saved in my mind..i was sad when they left..and when pt2 cames and was suprizes to see that one of them is playing on my pt! just figure out that 1 day ago.
EPT=Best PT.
all new shit [items monsters]are cool but the reall thing is ept
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Nah, ePT is full of elitist's now, there isnt any sense of community. there isn't that old companionship you felt with people in your party, its just like your solely there to level. I mean its like this "Oh Hai, how are you?"
Party member: "STFU AND LEVEL n00b!!!"
You: "Yep.....Love you too!"
What i meant by Koreans was that they MADE the game p2p. (I'm talking about Yedang) I mean, pretty much everyone loved PT back then. it was a pretty new advance to the gaming industry, had some of the best graphics at the time, and its simpleness WASN'T a limitation. I think its simpleness just ADDED to the awesomeness.
I also loved the Repair system back then! It was so fun!!! The way that you were constantly checking your weapon to see if you needed to pay or blacksmith a visit ^^.
I can also remember the BR n00b's. They were annoying to say the least, it was a war of nationalities, but this time, it was like North Korea VS The world. I can remember being followed by about five as they requested "Phree 1t3nzz". A guy called Sid did a video featuring the infamous BR n00b, type in on YouTube, "PT Machinima" Its fucking awesome!!!
Thanks,
Unzubaru =).
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
I just remembered, now sitting and looking through the PT-worldmap... Do you remember when you had to _RUN_ to navisko, because there were no warpgate? My god, I ran on the hills around the maps because it was a little bit faster.
Running to navisko was a pain in the ass, but you had to do it :P
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
I remember the Wing fee being so extortionate that if I wasn't lucky enough to have a Nav Core dropped I would run over the mountains where the mobs don't spawn.
30 Minigue Silver indeed... Like I can just fight my way through Oasis. XD
Here's a thought... we have old Ric maps, but does anybody have the old Navisko map with original SOD? Or before Survive or Die? The 2D GPS mini-map is still in most clients.
I couldn't get in, but I watched my step-son fight in the original SOD. (Yes I'm that old) Wasn't it just a boxing ring with wave after wave of monsters, getting higher and higher level? Or was the boxing ring just what it looked like from outside?
I remember that the SOD NPC alternated between the guy in a Bumah suit and the guy in a Goblin suit each day.
"*cough-cough* Oh! Excuse me... Old habits." XD
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
haha, all the people trying to join sod, I remember I had a system to ALWAYS get in. I don't remember it though, it was at a certain time you had to click the man in the suit and try to join.
A reason I always got in was probably also due to my internet, I have always had fast internet :P
I remember it was only one room, but I have no idea how it looked like, it was fun though.
Yeah, like you said, if old ricarten is/was in the files, the old navisko should too.
The old SoD could be a replacement of the new, it should be good in small servers, or just a fun thing to add and have extra.
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
that sounds really cool ^^ aside for paying to play =/ i started pt about the time this was created and have a archer lvl80 , sounds big but everyone is 100 and up now just about =/ lol but ya that sounds very different from how is it now , i can only imagine
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
Damn great story.
I wished there was a pre-aor/morion private version ;p. Guess it's impossible. I will look for it later.
Re: Early Priston Tale memories.
It is not. We have some that exist, with some bugs, and many Pre-AOR features have been added back to many current P-Servers. F.E. The Character Selection Scene recently posted by Ávila and the map from Pre-AOR Ricarten, often re-named "Atlantis"
I believe there is a group of three or four developers who have split off to work on a Pre-AOR server (EPT Server64) in their spare time... you hear requests for help from them, and get the occasional Beta release.
