GM Commands
Hi, I have finally got my own server up and running but im not using the KTP Client/Server and I was wondering if the GM Commands listed here http://forum.ragezone.com/f286/resou...ad-rft-242297/ (the second post by happyhardcore) work with any client/server or just the KTP server/client like stated. If there are commands for other clients/server please let me know. I can gain level 3 gm, teleport but cannot spawn items etc. I was wondering if I am missing something. Thanks! =)

Re: GM Commands
I wrote a response to this which I didn't like the tone of. Sarcastic and derogatory, and not the way I like to be. The fact is, that your question contains what is almost certainly a lie... or, at least a mis-direction. "I'm not using the KPT Client / Server" But you are probably unaware of that, so there is no point me getting shirty with you. Sorry if I sound that way.
Most servers we use are jPT modifications. The jPT server is only a translation of the KPT one. The clients usually come from KPT, jPT, PTV or EPT... but each of those is only an official translation of the KPT client.
There is a "Server Emulator" (PT-U?) which I haven't tried yet. That isn't related (in code) to any of the above, and is a true reverse engineering... though maybe not exactly "closed book". Potentially, that could use different commands.
Actually, it is possible to "translate" the commands just as you can translate the game text, but unless you want to obfuscate them to prevent hacking, why would you? And why would you distribute a server with modified GM commands to someone else, and not tell them what you changed the GM commands to? I don't think it's likely.
If you didn't create the Server and Client files, or have them created for you, and request something different... and if you did, you would know about it I think... then in all likelihood, you do have something "derived from" KPT, and those GM commands will work.
I hope that is clear, correct (you may know something I don't?) and not to blunt... as I'm sure you speak what you believe to be truth, and in good faith. Again, if I sound harsh or insulting, I apologise.
To suggest an alternative source when none exists is stealing credit for someone elses achievements... which is something I find less morally acceptable than stealing money. It's upsets me.
Good luck, and have fun breaker. ;)
Edit.... I'll qualify that. I don't mind using, even without their direct permission, someone elses work, but I wouldn't steal the credit for their work. Someone else may have translated, modified and repacked it, but the origin is still the same, and credit for that is still due. Just as credit to the translator, moder and repacker is due... okay, it's grey, and it shouldn't wind me up, but it does. Sorry. :x

Reason: Qualification?
