I was dubious about that statement, just on gut feeling. I still suspect Yedang don't "have the SourceCodes for it" or if they do, they REALLY don't understand them.

The thread I pulled up looking at the C++ version of the PT server Emu revealed this thread where Sandurr actually states that it is too much work to produce a 100% server emulator from it, as far as he is concerned. At least, that's how I read his comments.

He estimates that it would take at least a year of doing nothing but that back in 2007. I don't think he's had a year of doing nothing but working on a server in source code since then... so I strongly suspect that it is an overstatement to say he has "the SourceCodes". I am sure he does not.

However, I am also sure that he has many parts disassembled by now that he can replace and alter at will... I am working towards a similar library of routines my self, so...

I also believe he is one of a handful of people who are actually good at recognising and understanding the packet code sent between server and client. Which is a whole other level of low level code that Olly can't help you with. (much)

If there is anything to support this announcement of Sandurr leaving uPT (again), then I sugest that there are 2 possible reasons for the announcement. Either he is going underground again, or he is looking to regain some freedome.

If the latter is the case, maybe the current generation of RZ visitors are polite enough that he may choose to return and grace us with a few posts, just to let us know what he thinks of our methods of working. That would be nice. Even if it's just to tell us we are idiots going about it in completely the wrong way. :lol:
