dont gave up, as u can see in the release sections, almost everyone who released something , they did the work alone just the help the community, and there was another guy some time ago who was recluiting ppl for a new project and at the end nothing happened and he got some ppl to work already bur it seems like he didnt know what do exactly do, what u can say is put what you exactly want (and how you want it) and im sure there would be more ppl helping when u show that you know what to do exactly ;)

You already know, I hope, that if you have a specific issue that you want to know about I'm happy to share anything I know on the subject with you. I have no idea how the existing tiers work, let alone how to implement a 5th... and you already know that I think that to achieve level 200 you will have to reduce the XP needed to reach 120 / 150.

This doesn't have to make the game too easy though, because you can also reduce the XP given by monsters so that it still takes as long (as many kills) to reach the level. ;)

The "trick" seems to be working out what (aside from the exp:level table) defines a level up. Most of us would think that table would be it on it's own, but something else seems to affect the player "ding" effect and client seeing the level up.

If I find anything that would point out how to trace that point in the game code, I will (of course) let you know.

OK, well, thanks guys for support and all. I know T5 will be hard, infact, my skills are not even in hexing that much (you dont wanna know how easy phoenix was XD).I am ,infact, A 3D Modeller. That is indeed why i have started trying to recruit for a good cause. SoyEdu you said that Superman666 tried to make a custom game or expansion of PT and failed indeed that is true. But im not trying to reconfigure the game, Just trying to add some new stuff cuase of how old and boring that shit heap people call the Release section is getting (apart from the programs: PrItAtOr etc etc.). I'm Slightly fed-up of people saying that they are doing this and that doing it and then just not releasing anything, That doesnt really appeal as a "Community" to me. Obviously in your case Soy I clearly wouldnt mind as you have put blood sweat and cramp in your fingers from clicking and typing so much XD.
What i intend to do is basically find ways of adding new things to the cleint, new memory regions etc. Now back in my Hacking days i could read through ASM and hex like there was no tomorrow, now i suck ass. I also need to figure out how in the first place people actually added a new exp table to get the 150 level cap. I then need to find out things about Animations and the actual object being animated. Well thats what i need, i damn good hexer, programmer perhaps?

Okay Unz... Here's a preview of something I am doing.

I've created a section in my current working client for the item table as it is in the Server files. That way, if I want to add items to the item list, I can create a binary table, and insert it into both the server and the client, and I'm good to go.

This process is not very different from the XP table, but the problem others have had is that the client doesn't use the XP table alone. So you can apply the XP table to the server, as the 150 servers have, and it will support up to 150. When you apply it to the client... level ups don't quite happen where they should, unless (I think) the player monitors his/her XP closely for the boundary point and logs off, and back on where they should have leveled up.

Hang fire, and when the bugs are ironed out of my item table work and I can confirm all works well, I will release a tutorial... I don't want to start spouting my mouth just yet, because I may still find I've overlooked something important, and I don't want to mislead people.

What I will say, to help you get started on your own work (as I know that waiting around for others is frustrating) is that the best tool I have found for inserting, deleting and resizing or moving sections in your PE is NTCore's PE Explorer Suite. Get comfortable with that to start with.

This method seems to me to be how Quantumfusion has placed translations and IP in client into his 1873 client, and how Shagpub (et.el.) added the 150 level table and Endless Tower updates to the server.

Take a good look at the sections in those PEs, and try to see if you can figure how they are referenced by tracing the executables in Olly.

I'm actually more keen to post tutorials on how to do these things, like a journal of my works, rather than just post a new modified exe, because then I know they aren't being used by someone who doesn't understand them, and if / when I leave the community, new bloods like you and I, unzubaru, will know what has gone before. How it was done, and why. Rather than the point we are at right now, where we are reverse engineering something that is already reversed with no real understanding of the tools and methods that where used the last time around.

These statements are in contradiction IMHO. Hence why, when I learn something new, I post it. If I wait until I have a complete set of integrated working procedures, I will have forgotten what came early on, and nobody can cherry pick from my procedures to meet their own requirements.

I personally see this as a negative thing... but I also see your work as yours and grant you the right to do it in your own way. It is not for me to tell you what to release, or how to release any more than it is your place to tell me what to release and how. We each contribute to the community in our own way.

Bobsobol your right actually, i am gonna do a mixture, im gonna let out a tut for the phoenix but do an UBER release for my files so people can do stuff properly without a worry for bugs and shit :P.

Latest information on this? It's been a while just wondering if you guys are still working on them.

Phoenix pet, that Unzu and Illi where working on hit a major snag last time I heard, as did my item table.

FYI, like the exp tables, it seems to work fine from the server to swap it out, but the client needs something more, and harder to pinpoint.

Unzu is away from home, and is due back any day now IMS... I am also away from home, but have access to the net and clients and dev stuffs, just not to my server. ^_^

In the mean time, several good tutorials have been posted here explaining how to achieve similar things. Most crucially a thread (older, seemingly buried) has come to light by strangefay, explaining how to have as many levels as you like. It's good, but many are struggling to get to the end of it without the usual glitches popping up.

I've been helping people with it in PMs, but as yet I haven't heard any of them say "Yes, I got it! It works!" though some have posted that in strangefays thread. So either it actually is pretty finicky to get right, or I suck at explaining what he does any better than he has. :wink:

ok well im back and gonna be implementing level 200 if i can :P. Also StrangeFay works for cPT which is the unofficial chinese version, sems as they dont have on. they have up to level 00 with new weapons and armour added also, if someone can link me there .exe that would be nice and handy :D



EDIT: and yeh we ran into problems with the Phoenix Pet and Bobosobol is right, its damn hard to get the phoenix petwoking, i thought at first you could just add it like any other item but it seems that dont work XD.

For me, all that extra stuff can wait. I just wanted to get a look at the files because you said they were very well put together and not many bugs. But tyt
