    [Solved] Memory error

I've been trying to fix this for quite some time by now and I can't get it to work.

It's really annoying and I think I need some help with this.

I've tried quite possibly everything I can think of. This starts to happen after I remove xTrap from the client. (Client won't run unless I remove it)

Anyone got some solution for me?

    Really would help.

    Re: Memory error

Using some old one I used to use for a different server until we stopped running it (So honestly, got no clue)

But I've tried other clients as well, and I get the same errors (clients include, BloodPT, rPT-Client, PinoyPT)

Are you positive you're removing xTrap correctly?

To be honest, not really. Lol

Only 3 of those actually worked for me.

It wouldn't locate any of the other ones listed.

    Re: Memory error

Get the same error. I don't think it's the xtrap problem honestly., but then again I didn't even touch anything inside of these other clients.

well actually not the same error, different spot apparently.

I got the kPT test client to work and goes in-game as well, the only issue obviously is the korean text. I've been trying to change it but I keep getting a error opening the game because I'm obviously changing something that isn't suppose to be changed or something.

    Re: Memory error

its about memory, check it in the mainbord, if u have 2 memorys, just let one on it and try again, u can switch also (better if u have another pc where u can borrow the momery if thats compatible and test.

how much memory ram do u have?

    Re: Memory error

A few things you may want to do...

    1. Raise your virtual memory
    2. Ctrl+Alt+Del and look for high resource-demanding programs, then end them
    3. Look for odd programs in taskmanager that could be trojans/viruses
    4. Do a memtest to check for faulty ram.

Number 4 should be done in a non-Windows environment, preferably before any OS boots. You can create a live disk to do so.

With that being said, I don't think it relates to bad ram either. Did this randomly start occurring for you? If so, do some virus scans ASAP and a Windows update. I recommend downloading a trial of Kaspersky and doing a system scan. There *WILL* be false positives related to Priston Tale files -- that I can guarantee. They're commonly seen with NOD32 too and Avira detects some false positives as well. Still, don't let that make you think that all PT-related detections are false positives.

    Re: Memory error

Yeah I got a Memory Diagnostic Tool on one of my reformat disks.

But the weird thing is, if it does it to all my clients, but doesn't effect uPT or the kPT test client, why is it happening?

I thought it was a vista problem, so I had a friend of mine download the client and try it and he got it as well.

    Re: Memory error

    Hey sorry,

I didn't read the rest of your post and just realized that now (I have ADD). Fast response btw.

I would say that something within your clients = broken. What I would suggest doing...is dragging the QuantumFusion exe I gave you into the KPT Test folder and seeing if that runs. Let me know.

Edit: Btw, be sure to rename the xTrap folder to something like "xTrapBAK".

    Re: Memory error

What you must do now is mix and match your client. What I recommend doing is copying the folder and making a brand new one. You're going to want to steal some images, quest text, and things like that from your English client and mix it into the copy of the KPT client.

Try using your old game.exe within the newly created KPT copy as well. Should work unless it was corrupted.

If you're good with Olly, you can probably find out what's disagreeing with your exe through references and such, but this way may be easier for you.
