Depending in what country the server is in, the hoster of the private server can not be sued because the provider that provides the server with internet is not allowed to give any personal information about the customer.
Also, the whois information may only be used to contact it's owner regarding the domain and nothing else. If they sue someone with the information they got from a whois file, the prove voids.
This is in only a few countries, though.
i Think ViPT should have made their files public and given them so pt private servers wouldnt end ... It would have made ept mad but wat can they do about it they dont have money to shut down like hundreds of pt server but have money to shut down 2 servers
my friend had asked VipT to help them witht he files for Pt and they said Nope... b/c they are making so much money .. ( in my opinion) .. I call this in a way Selfishness that leads to disaster " WHICH HAS JUST HAPPENED"

Why won't EPT relize that they're losing a lot of support for their people, plus the gms that are lame wussies that don't even do a thing to help the players except giving them the bad news.
If there was a leak of these files, the odds of us being taken down is slim to none i hope.

vitalizept needs to distribute the emulator for all! for it is equal mu and wow.
As Utopia already stated here... there where only 3 servers up, and 2 of those are down already.
viPT and camzPT admins should learn with the creators of the 1st WoWEmu.
They created the emulation, but kept the code private. Then, Blizzard came all over them, their server was closed, and as far as i know they got fucked.
Meanwhile, another developer of an WoWEmu made his code OpenSource, so he became legaly untouchable. Whats the result? Now we got plenty WoWpvt servers to choose from.
And as already said in this topic, blizz cant do shit...
The problem i think is that ppl like to keep information to themselfs.
PristonTale is a lot older than WoW, LA2, and such, but while those games have a lot of pvt servers, and many diferent emulators, PristonTale have none.
You should ask yourselfs why.
Also, i wouldnt go trusting on viTP admins word like every1 here seems to be doing....
Let's not forget they started a server, in less than 2 weeks DEMANDED donations from players, even threatening to ban IP from those who didnt... and then all of sudden, they closed their server.... applying that they where facing legal issues... -.-"
I like priston, but i cant aford to waste 10hours/day of boring spawncamping to get 5~10% of a lvl's exp.... If theres a game in need of private serversm pristontale is that game.

Vitalize PT was awesome too bad it got shut down.
As Utopia also said, there hundreds of server in china. They just blocked our IPs.

I have to say that Triglow has won this round, but the war is far from over. This is a definitely severe wound, and it has definitely slowed down progress, but it doesn't mean that we have to stop fighting. I understand it if ViPT were to not share their files, but the least that we could do is try to continue their legacy, of bringing a freakin' awesome private server of a game that is awesome, yet owned by greedy ****ers (Triglow). If ViPT doesn't want to share the files, then we should start working on the emulators. Everyone who knows how to should, and everyone else should learn. I'm willing to pick up a programming language or two to help get this thing on its feet. Who else wants to stand against them?
You deserved that. Do you guys dont even know the way they treat some brazillian players... Yes there's lot of fags and idiots, but its NOT ALL of them. And theres non-brazillian players that are fucking ridiculous too. Again, im glad your server got fucked.
