    Windows 7 Issues for PT

I just upgraded from XP tp Win7 what I found was that the SQL 2005 management studio is not compatable with WIN7, SQL server 2005 installs with no problems. Has anyone used the SQl Server 2008 offering from Microsoft to create and manage the PT databases?

I'm sure I've spoken to people who have. It should not be a problem to use SMS 2005 with Windows 7, but what will be a problem is SQL Server 2005.

    Reason?
Because Windows 7 comes with SQL Server 2008 basically pre-installed as a key component of the OS. Vista has a cut down version of 2005.

It's used for the virtual folders and full-text search indexing both OS include as standard.

SMS 2005 wont install on Win7. It gives a message that the application is not compatible with this version of the OS. I am at the point of trying to figure out what to use in place of the xxx/sqlexpress.
