for 1. the server files work fine i tested them
for 2.no u dont "register" on some site, u only do that if ure wanting to connect to some1 else's co p
server
for 3.on ure own co p server u use ure own database and that's where u create ure own account at... :good:

The coemu.rar is newer than the one in the tutorial thread, as it apears to have code relating to shops, which the other one does not. It still has no warehouse code in it though, so it's not as new as the one that produced the db backup in the tutorial. I of course made the default inventory patch to the source to get it to work on modern clients. Continuing to investigate.

interesting. apparently they have inpmelented an autopatch server in that thing? Too bd I cannot understand the language. and my file extraction problems have trouble wit te doublebyte characters in the path. so I cannot extract the files properly yet.

It seems to be fairly advanced, allowing scripting in LUA for almost anything.

What happens when you equip an item, for example is scripted.

CP appear to be implemented, but reborn, as near as I can tell is not. (there's no column for it in the character database.

SO it appears to be a modified version of coemu, based off of the coemu source that's there, but without source available.

The main addition to it apperas to be LUA scripting, CP and limited warehouse support. and apparently friend and enemy lists are in too, judging by it's database. Someone needs to translate this thing. :)

I can't imagine LUA scripting being good server sided.. it's fun for client side customizationability (my word, copyright 2008) but server sided? Seems it would slow things down a bit.

Leaching is kinda good i think, u get to observe work of many people. lets noobs observe codes and tweak it with their basic knowledge and learn more. So i ask u the question, is leaching really slowing down the development of conquer p.s.. just so u know im not being a smart ass... i respect u and all but i think that these sources that have been released are great resources that could help nubs

gota give it 110%, otherwise you won't learn anything. Also leachin is just wrong, other peoples work not yours, end of. Learning from it is ok but taking code from other people and building a source thats basically not yours = wrong :/.
