Fame or money (and of course, no life) are the only reasons people make private servers for the public. Those who would want to learn would hardly make help threads. If you think that a community of which 50% or so are non-english speaking can compile a source code written in a high level language, you're very much mistaken. People make private servers so that they can have fun with their friends (private private servers) or let others have fun with their friends and make new ones (public private servers). If they would want to learn C++, they'd read a book. If they would want to develop their C++ skills, they'd mind their own fucking business and not whine about amateurs asking for help setting up a private server. Just my $0.02.
