    New challanges

    Hi all,

    I'm looking for a new challenge, besides my work on a own game.
    I'm working on a project for an third person action /strategy game. I'm doing that all alone, since it's an completely new type of game concept as far as I know.

    But back to the point of this topic.

    For the times that i don't wanna work my own game, I'm looking for an challenge related to Guns the Duel
    Is there any source available which is younger then the Alpha Gunz 2 source that's released years ago? Perhaps an beta or release stage one?
    If you have it and don't want it to get public drop me an PM.

    I know that Gunz 1 /1.5 has decent released but I'm passed that. I want something newer

    A challenge like what? rebuild a better engine ? apply modern c++ standards ?

    It would be wonderful to see the community working on the GunZ 2 source, even if privately. It's something that can still work, as much as most of the audience is passionate about Gunz 1/1.5 memories.
    It's something new, more up-to-date and it can certainly generate a good audience and be monetized.

    ups good , or simply portable and mix blended gunz 1.0/1.5 with gunz 2 to run and work in most basic match type would be a start like ijji did with 1.5 gunz, but now theres gunz 2, so we could go for gunz 1.75.

    The problem will be to improve the roots, which means applying new shaders in textures and texture layers

    Also the improvement of the rendering system and moving the animations to GPU load, it could also make an improvement in the map lighting system

    thats why it was called challenge , nothing less not worth it, 10 years ago lots good stuff was started , but now for real those all stuff has a official support and comptiable features to get done with and use all the content thats shared with effective styles and knowledge about how its done sourcecode friendly very far, some starts a own engine game from based it thats how much the intelligence and powerful apps are now specially for games likethis in modern day.

    I don't know if you like it but I worked on a code for a fangame in a community long before gunz and now I see that they made many changes and improvements, they even have a version for android, maybe it will help you.

    I was dedicated to creating characters with sprites and maps.

    The code of this game is public since 1999 I think. It is the graphics engine of the Doom game.

    i like it, supermario 64, and zelda ocarina of time 64 , and might and might 7 , best games made with craziest graph

    That's right and the good thing about this fangame is that it has support for linux, android and I think mac.

    i feel like we robbed rotanas thread for conversating topics we would like to talk about, hopefully he got something from these topics tho, otherwise i wonder why he would come up with thread and not want to consulate more of his planning to do.

    I haven't worked much with Vulkan before, so that would be a nice challange.
    I have to admit that porting some of the movement, maps, characters, and other things to Unreal 4 wasn't that hard. Was to lazy to finish it.

    Gunz 1.75, sounds nice but if I'm not mistaking there was already someone that ported the Gunz 2 engine to Gunz 1.5.
    its true theres attempts to have it ported. but so far from what ive discussed and heard of, none made it functional and so far whats working in map side is just one map and that also is pretty far imported through a linking paths to files, i dont think anyhing so far created public is something you or anyone to use them would like to use them, so for this reason they are not used in any pserver releases, so that gunz 2.0 and 1.75 is still totally conquerable side of gunz for you.

    not like people wouldnt want be taking apart of this project themselves, but i belive gunz is what it is so none anymore trying to achieve these to work for some purpose to offer people.. but myself and i have still much interest to get this roll and run in gunz and ported the way to blend with gunz files .. so if you seek to develope this site around im free to co/work and offer access and server for test sides, i feel free to share and work with someone, because with this project i plan to have it work as well, so someone with same interests are welcome to use my resources freely but also working solo and as working on their own, without any neccessary to share their project with me of course is fine, but still have access to use any resources ive to test and beta their project i want contribute any progress relating the gunz 1.75 and 2.0 port project, that will offer upgraded graphpics and all that, and work a whole knew gunz 1.0 gameplay with developing and using gunz 1/2 source and data to make something enjoyable, without creating a whole knew game based on basicly same ideas.

    I tried a few ports myself, including the wined3d api for opengl rendering, and while it did work, it had many texture glitches and what i would call "hitbox" issues.

    ok , jedi academy and jedi academy outcast it has a free open source jdk and has much more content and releases than gunz has, it has a better combat systems, but missing the mechanics of using world interactive and wall running etc.. but combining these two, would create a amazing custom blast project, it has a system of campaign/skills/ stamina the more stamina is left the more forceful your jump are and so on, gun play is on FPS mode view and sabre fighting is TPS mode view. thats something you should look into and find a cross-solution for gunz and it, they most likely on same engine as well.
