About things being kept private, there's nothing we can do. No one wants to release things.

I asked Linear88 for a simple SQL query a while back and his reply was "Buy it".

I think the big one is that there isn't a centralized project that the community works on here. It's a lot of private teams who believe their way is the right way. I got it, there isn't a working emulator yet, and something like that is hard to collaborate on, especially with the type of community we have here (backstabbers, greedy, no trust)

I think people fail to realize when you say 'I dont want to give the answer to new guys so they dont have to do the work', that 90% of what we have now wouldn't exist if someone didn't post a fucking tutorial on how to build the server in the first place. Hold your tongue if you think you're better than someone else here, you're not, 90% of us had to read that damn confusing tutorial over and over until we committed the build process to memory. Even the person who 'wrote it' simply took it from a bunch of different sources and compiled it into one post.

The only innovative people who actually made pservers possible are gone or inactive, unless you're literally digging in the nitty gritty right now, someone's probably already done what you're writing, and you wouldn't have to be wasting your time writing it since it already would exist of someone would release it.

I think it is somewhat ironic that you, Phail, are the person to bring this up. You are probably the member of the community that has contributed the most to making it greedy, egotistical and non-caring.

Unfortunately this is true for now. When I was in DMGunz' team (The brazilian one, not the American one), I was making an extra effort to figure things out myself and released all the shit I ended up making. I've been studying C++ like crazy and ASM as well.

But then EuroGunz attacked us multiple times and I lost all motivation to keep releasing, since the majority of EG's staff is around here. Why would I try to release to a community whose members try to bring me down?

It's sad but it's our situation =P

My only hope is that in the future people get over this and try releasing more. Something I'll start doing soon, now that I have no Gunz team to compete with. I'd just like to help the ones that exist.

styx still models, Lucas came back a bit and did some stuff, ryu last i checked was at DR but that was a while ago.
