Unfortunately, we have experienced significant hard drive damage that requires urgent maintenance and rebuilding. All new SQL servers should support older versions, in case you're referring to Gunz database, it should work fine with them. (Haven't tested it though)
As for C++, do you mean a compiler for the source code ? If so, the one built with 2012 is good, if you wanna upgrade it to 2019 you might encounter some errors which you may need to fix (but that's not a big deal).

As for C ++, I recommend 2013 and 2019 is much better for me, and SQL because you can use 2008 R2 until 2014, the one I currently use is 2014.
