    [Q] Kal Server As A Windows Service?

    Anyone know how to make kal server work as a windows service?

    Possibly with SrvAny i tried once but it wouldn't connect to the db but then again i know NOTHING about windows(i run it ONLY for Kal/Oblivion)

    why would you make it as Windows Service??

    thats just pointless, nothing really special comes with it, that i know of, if you just wanna make it auto start when it crashes add it to "AlwaysUp" if you have a dedicated svr 2003 =D

    running as a service pwns it starts with the computer before login, runs in the background, and such

    i wanna run it as a service for the same reasons people run http servers as services...

    The problem is you need to delay the startup of the mainserver, as it cannot start before the DB server.
    You would have to write a software wrapper , that handles AUTH,DB and MAIN in one application, with the nessary delays in between the startups. And then add this to a service.

    Possible, you can the use the application bakabug wrote for the handling auth,db and main in one... it's in the release section somewhere.
