    I use SQL 2000,
    but i think thats not the problem..

    try running mssql while you do it :)

    lol. it is runing... anyways this is how u back up in 2000.

    Or did you have stopped the MySQL Device?

    If you:

    Press your windowsbutton and 'R' type in cmd
    Press Run. write: sc start MSSQLSERVER. Same with MSSQLServerADHelper.

    Or:

    Press 'start' 'controlpanel' 'management' 'services' And Look for MSSQL Services. Right Click property and Startmode 'automatic' do the same with the other ones...
