Is there any actual evidence of this in action or did you post this before you started anything?

I have done some work, but it's not to a state yet where you can view Hotel View so there isn't much to show.

So you just "planned" on making a emu in C++?
Do you have any experience or so? Because C++ isn't the easiest language to learn and start with.
Also, you do know C++ isn't a managed language? meaning you have to free resources by yourself and watch out with memory usage...
Memory leaks, will be your #1 problem!

No, memory leaks are rather easy to manage. The strategy is: implement your resource deallocation right after you implement your resource allocation -- so you only need to trace the odd memory leaks with valgrind. The most challenging part about this project will be writing concurrent code; that is, avoiding deadlocks with poor/no mutex, condition variables, and thread pooling (finding the appropriate amount of the threads; though this is architecture specific). Moreover, there were three obvious choices for implementing concurrent code in C++. I am going with POSIX threads seeing as they are portable and 'standardized' (unofficially).

Re: Resolution Emulator (r63b, Code Name: RAJ, C++03)
I love it when it works on Linux!
And C++ is more stable and Linux, too.
No professionel Gameserver host on a Windows Server... Look at world of warcraft p servers or somethink like that.
I like that. I think i buy a license when the Emu are very good an you update that.
On what time you releasse the Emulator?
Thank you

I am a Webdeveloper in a Agency we never use a Windows Server as a Webserver here... FOr Webhosting i hate Windows...

Glad to see someone else to agree with nobrain's idea. and I do agreee with you , hosting a website on a windows server just sucks.

I hate people that are trying to prove what OS is better.
Maybe you could keep a changelog. It'll motivate you and we're getting keeped up to date with latest news :D:

Re: Resolution Emulator (r63b, Code Name: RAJ, C++03)
Why not use automake to generate the makefiles? :)
How are you going to handle async sockets select, kqueue?
I understand avoiding windows the Microsoft API's are confusing at best.

This is for Linux only, so what? It's still a contribution, a good one by the sounds of it. Good luck and keep updating!
